Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medicines have been seized by Department of Health authorities during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A male was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines through the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is vital that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be harmful.

"These kinds of products being sold, typically online, have gone through no quality control and there can be no warranty about their safety.

"You simply do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More notably, you do not understand the result drugs like this might have on your health."
